Texas Hold'em Poker Cruise

Sunday January 17th 2010

A Poker Run with a twist, ending at Sea Works on the Ann St Pier in Williamstown.
It's summer, it's Sunday and what more would 'chrome bumper enthusiasts' prefer to be doing? Any excuse will do to cruise to Williamstown with lots of great cars to check out. But there's more:

  • Park out in the Bay on a private Pier!
  • Play a poker game with lots of prizes that hundreds of people are playing all at the same time! It's a sight to behold!
  • Catch up with friends old & new.
  • Take a photo of your car, partner, family, friends against Melbourne's CBD from the unique vantage point at the end of the Pier.
  • Craft market at Gem Pier a short stroll away
  • We'll present an TURTLE WAX ICE Best Presented Award
  • Trade stands for guys & gals, all inside the huge shed.
  • Live entertainment
  • Pirate's tavern & BBQ
  • Kid's activities
  • Lots of prizes and giveaways
Can you come up with a better way to spend a Sunday in the middle of summer? We couldn't!

Registration/Cruise Start Points

1st Card

We have two cruise start locations operating from 9:00-10:00am.
Collect the first card for your Poker hand at one of our two registration locations.
Registration is at Hoppers Stoppers in Nevada Ct Hoppers Crossing or Bradford Badges at 7A Boundary Rd Mordialloc. You choose which location suits you best. At registration, the dealer will deal your first card, provide your cruise map and info and then you’re all set to cruise to Sea Works in Nelson Place Williamstown where registered players will collect their 2nd card on arrival at the entry in Ann St. All children in entrant’s cars will also receive their special playing card on arrival. They will use this to play their own card game at 1pm for some great prizes.

2nd Card: Williamstown at Entry to Seaworks

The second card in your hand will be provided at the entry to Sea Works in Ann St [left off Nelson Place] Williamstown. [Melways Ref. 56E9] All players will also receive a lucky entrant's ticket on arrival at Sea Works for a prize pool to be drawn throughout the day.

Cannot make it to one of our registration locations?
Then go straight to Sea Works at Williamstown and register at the gate from 10:00 am. Not before please, as we'll all be busy inside setting up for the day! Please note however, that players that have already registered at cruise start locations will be given priority access to the reserved parking. The paved car park inside Sea Works can hold around 250 cars, and includes a large jetty right out into the bay which is used for very unique entrant parking. We'll have a BBQ available, as well as the Pirates Tavern and there are many cafes & pubs along Nelson Place are only a short stroll away.

1:00pm - The 'Flop'

At the Let's Go Cruisin' tent, at 1PM sharp, we will draw the 'Flop', that is, three cards from a fresh pack. All players will share these three cards, with the two collected earlier. Even if your first two cards don't look like winners, don't despair as your hand can quickly become a winner when the 'Flops' three cards are added. We'll have lots of prizes for winning hands, but you must be present at the draw and come forward immediately to claim any prize. We reckon just being there will be a winning deal!

3:00pm - The $500 Draw

After the Flop at 1:00 pm, all players should retain the two cards they collected at registration and the gate entry. If you’re still at Sea Works at 2:30pm, take your cards to the LGC tent and place ONE of the cards in a box we’ll have available for this draw and RETAIN the second card. Both of these cards will have your entrant number marked on the back. At 3:00pm we’ll draw one card from this box and the entrant with the matching numbered card will collect $500 in cash!! There’s a condition though. You can only collect the $500 cash prize by driving your car to the presentation area. There’s no point in collecting friends cards from them if they choose to leave before 3:00pm. You and your car both have to be present to collect the cash if your card comes out. Good Luck.

Poker Players Children

Player's children in the entrant's car at registration will be provided with a 'FREE' playing card and will use this to participate in a 'Draw Poker' game with some great prizes. This will take place along with the 'Flop' at one o'clock.
Safety Message: With the venue being adjacent the Bays edge and the pier area we request that your children be under adult supervision at all times.

Entrants Prize Pool

All entrants will participate in a prize pool that will be drawn throughout the day. Just check the winner’s board at the LGC tent and select your prize off the table if your entrant number comes up.

LGC Cruisers

There will be a special Cruisers Draw at this event so make sure you get your name into the bucket for some great giveaways. Drawn at the 1:00 PM flop.

Entry Cost

Players - $5/hand. Limit two per car.

Public Admission

We will allow public admission again this year. The pedestrian entrance will be via an entry door at the front of the Sea Works building fronting on to Nelson Place. There will be an admittance fee of $5/adult. Children accompanied by adults will be admitted free. Children not accompanied by adults will not be admitted. This is due to the venue being adjacent the Bays edge and the pier area requires children to be under adult supervision at all times.

Overflow Parking

The venue is limited in space to around 200 cars. We just managed to get entrants comfortably inside last year. The popularity of this event is such that we may not be able to guarantee we can get everyone inside. We will be able to park some cars in Ann St, which is inside our entry gate. If this is required and you’re asked to park there, you can choose to do so and you’ll be inside the venue area albeit outside the fenced area of Sea Works or choose not to stay and request a refund of your card entry fee from the LGC members manning the gate.

LGC is VicRoads approved for red plate events for all CR, H & SR vehicles. Just have a copy of this event’s flyer or a copy of this web page with you.
